Immediate 4 - Heat Exhaustion

This video was created to explain how to properly care for a heat exhaustion situation.
Joseph is running on the track at school and begins to show symptoms of heavy sweating, dizziness, and tiredness. He ignores these symptoms and continues to run. He then collapses. A bystander, Stephanie, witnessed him faint and calls 9-1-1. She tells them her name, where she is at, and what she saw. She then checks on Joseph and helps him over to a shaded area. She then gives him cool clothes for his neck and water to help cool him off.

Wolf Pack- Diabetic Emergency

The purpose of this video was to inform people about what to do in the diabetic emergency.

Sarah, Jenniffer and Joy were walking in to the classroom when Joy began to feel dizzy and light headed.  Joy then fainted due to hypoglycemia.  Jenniffer and Sarah then checked for signs of life and if she had a medical identification bracelet. They removed Joys book bag and let her lean against Sarah for support.   After joy was awake after the fainting spell and was sitting up, Jenniffer gave her orange juice.Sarah had Ashton call 911.  The situation was under control. The team used the proper steps

RCR: Concious Choking

Our video gives an example of what to do when a person begins choking. First your are to explain your skills. The next step is to get permission and explain what you will do. Give 5 backblows and 5 abdominal thrusts until object is expelled. If person goes unconcious call 911 and begin skills for unconcious choking. Our purpose of this video is to give people a simple understanding of what to do when in this type of situation.

Fantastic Four Video Project

There were three roles in the video; victim, bystander, and first responder. The skills used in this video were check, call, care. We checked the victim to make sure she still had a pulse and was breathing. We shook her to make sure she was conscious, or get her to wake up. We kept her in a sitting position after she woke up until she felt better. The only time to call 9-1-1 is if the victim has fainted more than once or does not wake up. The purpose of this video was to demonstrate proper skills in handling a fainting victim. This video isn't intended as a substitute for training.

Science Building

What's needed:
They have first aid kits in all the labs but none in the classrooms below. The first aid kits also need to be more accessible. There are no what to do if someone is choking posters, only where to go in case of a fire and what to do in case of other certain emergencies. No building on campus has AEDs, there should at least be one or two per building.

Library Inspection by Fantastic Four

Changes:
-Library needs an A.E.D.either at the circulation desk, with the first aid kit, or in visible areas around the building
-Easier to read Evacuation maps: the current maps are very difficult to read and understand
-Fire Extinguishers in the Library (where the books are located) should be relocated so they are easier to find.

Safety concerns:
-The elevators have not been inspected in 1-3 years
-There are no visible security cameras in the "loading dock" area
-The Cybercafe can't find their fire extinguisher

The Wolfpack- Fine Arts Building Safety Team Survey

The Wolfpack Saftey Team Survey at Fine Arts Building

Changes: Needed an AED on location of the building. Buildings are far apart so there would not be enough time for an AED to be brought over. Also, not providing a First Aid kit

Present: Located fire extinguishers, evacuation chairs, Emergency Call button, Fire Alarms and evacuation routes

Safety Concerns: Not providing an AED or First Aid kit for minor injuries
